I did my first admission talk of the year for rising seniors on Saturday at our Junior Preview Day. I thought it would be a good idea to post my comments for those of you who were not able to attend.

I begin each talk by saying I guarantee that everyone who wants to go to college will go. We live in the only country in the world where everyone who wants to go to college can find a seat. While those of us in the east tend to fixate on the schools that admit fewer than 20% of their applicants, the reality is that the average acceptance rate nationally is around 77%. So if you’re a junior reading this blog and you want to go to college, rest assured that you will be admitted to a school in which your life will be transformed and you will begin turning your dreams into a reality. I guarantee it.
